4in10 stands firm against the two-child benefit cap

4in10 is a proud member of the End Child Poverty coalition, which campaigned tirelessly for the removal of the two-child benefit cap – a victory achieved in November 2025.

Following this landmark change, 4in10 Programme Manager Katherine refuted Reform UK’s calls to reintroduce the cap, in an interview with BBC Radio London. She made the case for why removing it is essential to lifting hundreds of thousands of children out of poverty.

Young people speak their truth to power

A group of young people shared the impact that poverty has on their lives, and developed their recommendations for decision-makers.

They were on the Youth Leaders Programme, led by 4in10 member XLP and funded by 4in10 and Trust for London.

This culminated in a fantastic event where they discussed their artwork and ideas with an audience including London Deputy Mayors Joanne McCartney and Debbie Weekes-Bernard.

4in10 presents a roadmap to end child homelessness in Westminster

4in10’s research, ‘Lives on Hold’, calls on the Government to recognise a simple truth: Ending homelessness and ending child poverty go hand in hand.

The major report was launched in Westminster, and sets out detailed recommendations for:

  • Adequate social security
  • Affordable housing
  • Sustained funding for youth homelessness hubs.

Poverty can mean a child going without the basics:

  • Going to school hungry
  • Lacking space to study or play
  • Repeatedly packing up life and moving (roughly one child in every London classroom is homeless).
  • Missing out on trips with school or friends, because they are too expensive.

Together we can do better for London’s children.
