About This Way Up

A programme of professional life coaching and stress-reduction

This Way Up is a six week programme of professional life coaching and stress-reduction techniques which can help you move on with your life.

We can all feel stuck in our lives, with challenging circumstances and difficult past experiences impacting our ability to succeed in the present. This is even harder when you’re trying to get by on a low income.

This Way Up gave me the realisation that yes, i can take that next step.

Frequently asked questions

Who is it for?

Anyone living on a low income who wants to get their life on track if they feel held back by challenging circumstances or difficult past experiences. But please note that, while this programme can help alleviate some mild-moderate mental health problems like anxiety or depression, it is NOT a therapeutic programme. So it’s not suitable for people currently experiencing a mental health or addiction-related crisis. If you have any questions about this, we are happy to discuss this with you.

What does it cost?

This Way Up is free for people on a low income. Please note that participants must be able to cover costs of travel to and from the sessions if taking place in person.

What can you expect from us?

We are committed to facilitating a meaningful process of learning and development for you. To ensure this, we’ll be fully attentive to you and your personal strengths, goals and challenges. In your life coaching sessions, your coach will be honest and straightforward in asking questions, and may suggest exercises and reflections for you to take away and work on in between the sessions. This isn’t about testing you, or giving you unnecessary homework – it’s about honouring the commitment you’ve made to focus on yourself. We’ll always agree between us what you’re committing to working on in between sessions.

What will be expected of me?

We ask that you commit to come to as many of the sessions as possible, and on time. We will encourage you to be open to the changes that may come about in your life, and to be willing to take steps to move towards your goals. We also ask that you do some small amounts of home ‘practice’ for the mindfulness course, and take part in evaluation of the course.

Is mindfulness a religious practice?

No. This Way Up is completely non-religious.

Where is the programme held?

The next course will take place from the week of 1 June to the week of 6 July 2026.

The group mindfulness sessions will take place online on six Fridays from Friday 5 June to Friday 10 July, at 11am-12.30pm.

The one-to-one life coaching will take place in six virtual sessions.
